In May, Jack and Jill of America, Inc. recreated the Children's Crusade of 1963, where children walked out of their classes to protest segregation. Over 2,000 Jack and Jill children participated in this march, led by our own Immediate Past Regional Teen President, Carlos Brown, Jr. The children marched with traditional protest signs they created prior to the march. Martin Luther King III, Marian Wright Edelman, and several of the original Foot Soldiers who marched as children spoke to the children right before the march, inspiring them to continue the fight for equality and social justice for all. Carlos Jr. was accompanied by his parents and three sisters - a truly memorable occasion for the entire family. We are so proud of Carlos Jr. and the Brown family for representing James River so well.
